Paroles :

Why do they always send the poor
Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels
Victorious victories kneel
For brand new spankin' deals
Marching forward hypocrtic and
Hypnotic computers
You depend on our protection
Yet you feed us lies from the tablecloth
Everybody's going to the party have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Kneeling roses disappearing into
Moses' dry mouth
Breaking into Fort Knox stealing
Our intentions
Hangers sitting dripped in oil
Crying freedom
Handed to obsoletion
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth
Everybody's going to the party
have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Everybody's going to the party
have a real good time
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine
Blast off
It's party time
And we don't live in a fascist nation
Blast off
It's party time
And where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Where the fuck are you?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don't presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why do they always send the poor?

Paroles :

They came for him one winter's night.
A
rrested, he was bound.
T
hey said there'd been a robbery,
Hi
s pistol had been found.
The
y marched him to the station house,
He
waited for the dawn.
A
nd as they led him to the dock,
H
e knew that he'd been wronged.
"
You stand accused of robbery,"
He
heard the bailiff say.
He knew without an alibi,
T
omorrow's light would mourn his freedom.
O
ver the hills and far away,
F
or ten long years he'll count the days.
Over
the mountains and the seas,
A
prisoner's life for him there'll be.
He k
new that it would cost him dear,
But yet he dare not say.
Wh
ere he had been that fateful night,
A s
ecret it must stay.
He
had to fight back tears of rage.
His
heart beat like a drum.
For
with the wife of his best friend,
He s
pent his final night of freedom.
Over the hills and far away,
He swears he will return one day.
Far
from the mountains and the seas,
Back
in her arms again he'll be.
O
ver the hills and far away.
Ov
er the hills and,
Over the hills and,
O
ver the hills and far away.
Each night within his prison cell,
He
looks out through the bars.
He reads the letters that she wrote.
O
ne day he'll know the taste of freedom.
Over
the hills and far away,
Sh
e prays he will return one day.
A
s sure as the rivers reach the seas,
Ba
ck in his arms again she'll be.
O
ver the hills and far away,
He swears he will return one day.
Far
from the mountains and the seas,
Back in her arms again he'll be.
Over the hills and far away,
S
he prays he will return one day.
As
sure as the rivers reach the sea,
Back
in her arms is where he'll be.
O
ver the hills,
O
ver the hills and far away.
Over the hills,
Over the hills and far away.

Paroles :

Better to reign in hell
Better to reign in hell

H
eart in hand passed clasp of pain
I
n dark lowland that set bad blood in veins
Burning, like penal fires roused to strain
T
he jagged-toothed skyline braced with crosses

The golden dawn
Lay lost to mist where
E
mboldened thorns
M
ade their bed with toppled stones

H
e closed His eyes
Sunken to dream there
O
f crow-black skies
And a great white empty throne
Horror stalked the bilious fogs
T
hat balked his visions

He licked the spittle from the cheeks of the wry
And drifted back to when His stung its target
The sneer of Michael on a glorious high
O
f angel dust and Virtue by his side

D
rowning in the past
That downfall seemed like yesterday
T
hough blurred moons passed
A
s enemies in high places laughed

Moved to mirrors cracked with heavy lines
H
e rose snowblind, through shifting sands of time
E
rased the trace and taste of bitter wines
T
he grapes of wrath grew fat on the vine

Sh
e came to Him
A
little whip of tantrums
Thrashed on velvet skins
Th
at lines Her wishbone Henge

H
er name was Sin
A warming spurt of mantras
Splashed on occult tongues
T
hat whispered sweet revenge

F
or the shame of their crawl from grace
C
old and hollow as the grave
And for a rape and ruinous scourge
S
pared for souls that shared God 's worship
For now their throats coated notes with dirge
That poured from parapets to the pits below

D
rowning in the past
A wretched scream like yesterday
D
ied at last
With the rising of the revenant dark
Al
l sharpened claws and blunt discharge

"
I shall bow no more to the dogs of the Lord
Tearing at my carcass heart
I
shall fall to my knees only at the keyholes
O
f Virtue slipping into bondage masks...
F
reewill made me better to reign in hell"

And with new wings
U
nfurled and spoken
H
e took to things
That would desecrate the world

The seduction of both woman and man
F
or a bastard masterplan

D
rowning out the past
Fool Fates unwound cruel yesterdays
beneath the stars
T
hat staggered from the blast
